Counselling with
Pivot Solutions CQ

Michelle Prolongeau, Counsellor and Coach; a blonde professional with a black collared shirt sits in a grey upholstered chair in her office smiling at a brown haired counselling client sat in front of her talking to her.

As the founder of Pivot Solutions CQ, I have provided counselling support for individuals for almost a decade, offering compassionate, practical support to individuals and communities navigating some of life’s most challenging experiences.

The 'Michelle Prolongeau' brand represents the next evolution of my work, allowing me to expand the ways I support people through counselling, professional supervision, coaching, speaking and wellbeing initiatives.

While my brand is evolving, my commitment to counselling remains the same. Supporting people through difficult seasons, helping them understand themselves, build resilience and create meaningful change continues to be at the heart of what I do.

A tailored approach to counselling

  • understanding your experiences, emotions and patterns

  • processing difficult events and challenges

  • building resilience and emotional awareness

  • developing practical strategies to support your wellbeing

  • reconnecting with your strengths, values and sense of direction

Together, we can work towards:

I believe counselling should be a space where you feel safe, respected and genuinely heard.

As a qualified counsellor and ACA accredited supervisor, I bring extensive experience from private practice, crisis response and suicide postvention support, working alongside individuals, families and communities through complex and challenging experiences.

My approach combines evidence-based therapeutic practices with real-world understanding.

I don’t believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach. Every person’s story, experiences and goals are different.

Flexible counselling options

I offer counselling appointments designed to provide support in a way that feels comfortable and accessible.

+ Face-to-face appointments
+ Online appointments
+ Phone appointments

Finding the right environment is an important part of the process.

My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, supported and able to be yourself.

Areas of support:

I work with individuals experiencing a wide range of challenges, including:

Supporting individuals impacted by trauma, loss and significant life experiences, including suicide bereavement and post-vention support.

Helping you understand the impact of ongoing stress, restore balance and develop sustainable strategies to manage pressure and protect your wellbeing.

Providing a compassionate space to explore your experiences and develop practical tools to support emotional regulation and wellbeing.

Supporting individuals to better understand patterns, behaviours and the experiences that may be influencing their choices, while developing healthier ways forward.

Helping you strengthen self-awareness, develop healthier boundaries, challenge limiting beliefs and create meaningful change aligned with your values.

Drawing on my frontline experience to support individuals, workplaces and communities during times of significant stress, change or uncertainty.

  •   WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY...

    I cannot recommend Michelle enough!

I will admit I've had previous experiences with 'therapy' that were less than satisfactory.  Michelle has provided me with practical support and assistance in a time where I felt like everything was falling apart. Michelle has gone the extra mile and given me practical, achievable steps to forge a path forward and set me on level ground.  The level of care and assistance that has been provided has been incredible and has given me hope back when I thought I had none.
Michelle has maintained a professional attitude, whilst also still providing a level of empathy and understanding that has made me see that I can do this.  I cannot thank Michelle enough for the practical steps and positive influence that has helped me to regain my hope.I am a sceptic no more!

  •   WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY...
I have struggled with depression and anxiety for a lot of my adult life. I had tried counselling before with not much success. So, when I got to my lowest point 18 months ago, I reached out to many places in Gladstone with no one responding. That was when I tried Michelle, she responded to me almost instantly, that in itself can be lifesaving.

Michelle has been amazing in helping me see issues in myself that I couldn’t see before, she helps me understand why I think and deal with things the way I do, points out links between my past and the impacts that has on my current self. And then provides methods I can use to make my life easier or just make sense.

Michelle has made me accountable for my life and the things I can control. She has made me a better husband, father and person and I'm extremely thankful to have met her and to continue having her help me be better version of myself in the future.

  •   WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY...

I don't even know where to start to explain what this beautiful lady has done for me. I come in a pretty broken, self-sabotaging person and the experience was like no other I've had, I have tried many other places and it just felt like four white walls and a person you are speaking your heart and soul to was judging you.

The moment I walked into Michelle’s office, it was the most warm welcoming experience I have had. Not only did she listen to me 100%, she made me feel safe and made me feel so comfortable I could be my authentic self. She truly has a way of explaining stuff to you that you can actually understand and take away from it and truly goes above and beyond for her clients.

Everyone I'm talking to about mental health, I 100% recommend her.

  •   WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY...

Michelle will never actually understand how thankful I am for the support and guidance she has provided me over the past 18 months. I walked into my first session; emotionally unavailable, my walls couldn’t have been any higher and I was extremely stubborn (ok, I still am).

Michelle genuinely cares for her clients! She provides great empathy, a safe place to feel heard, understood and not judged, and is extremely passionate about the wellbeing of her clients.

I still have a long way to go on my own personal journey, but I can assure you I am further than I ever thought I would be.

Michelle really did save my life, and for that I will be forever grateful.

  •   WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY...

I got onto Michelle through a recommendation.

To be honest, I wasn't keen. Always thought counselling was a bit airy fairy and not really for blokes like me. Sitting around talking about feelings didn't sound like something l'd stick with.

First session though, I could tell she was different. No crap, no overcomplicating things. Just straight up. She says it how it is, but it actually lands. You can tell she's been through her own stuff too, not just reading out of a book.

I've come across a few counsellors and that through work over the years, but nothing ever really did much. This was different. Something just clicked. One of those moments where you go, "right... that makes sense now." I decided early on l'd just give it a proper go. Thought, what's the worst that could happen? Glad I did.

It's not sitting there going around in circles. It's simple, practical and you can actually use it in real life. I've noticed I'm handling stress better, not blowing up as much and just thinking a bit clearer. If you're like I was and not sure about it, l'd just say give it a crack. It's not what you think, and she's easy to talk to. No bullshit.
